Hair Transplant
You may wonder what the best solution for active hair loss is. Therapies such as hair lasers and vitamins may not work for everyone. While there is no cure for receding or thinning hair, surgical hair transplant can offer a great solution for patients that are looking for hair replacement.
Dr. Ramesha's method is to gradually replace the hair over time, which draws less attention to process. His advanced techniques allow him to restore the hairline as close to its original shape as possible in both men and women.
In addition to scalp hair transplant, facial hair transplants for beards and mustaches are also done.
Hairline Lowering
Hairline lowering is a procedure that can help a patient with a high forehead achieve facial balance. Ideally, the distance from the hairline to the brown should be the same as distance from the nose to the brow and from the nose to the chin.
Hairline lowering surgery yields immediate results however more than one transplant session is needed to achieve the desired results. Each session is typically spaced about 1 year apart. Most patients will not need general anesthesia for this procedure, reducing the risk of complications.
Eyebrow and Eyelash Transplant
Transplants to the eyebrows are designed to restore hair growth to missing, thin or scarred eyebrows. Because this is a highly visible area of the face, a natural appearance is extremely important. Dr. Ramesha's technique is to transplant single hairs to the area paying careful attention to the direction, angle and curl of the hair. Depending on the desired results, typically 100-300 hairs are transplanted to the eyebrows.
Patients may lack eyelashes on the eyelid due to factors like genetics, alopecia, cancer or burns. Eyelash transplant can also help thicken and enhance the appearance of existing lashes. Dr.Ramesha's methodically applies single hairs to the eyelid to ensure proper placement, depth, angle and density, which allows for a fantastic result.
Follicular Unit Extraction
Unlike a strip technique, follicular unit extraction is a cutting edge technique for performing natural looking hair transplants. It involves tiny individual punch grafts, which are harvested from the donor area and trimmed into follicular units. The procedure is more time intensive and more costly than a strip technique, but it achieves a better result and avoids a linear scar.
With his hair restoration solutions, Dr. Ramesha performs platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy post procedure. PRP is the separation of platelets from other blood cells and contains a concentration of 3-5 times the amount of platelets than found in normal blood. It stimulates the stem cells of the newly transplanted hair follicles and helps reverse hair miniaturization.
